A workshop for Art Matters Festival 2020: Introducing performance artists to interactivity
"Turn everyday items into buttons and touchpads to be used in performance pieces! Originally made for video games, Makey Makey is a cheap and beginner-friendly tool for digital interactivity. In this workshop, we will learn how to use physical materials to create interaction with a computer (sounds, visuals, light). We will then explore the performative potential of these interactions. Bring objects from home: anything that conducts electricity or that you would like to use in your mini-performance piece! Silverware, fruits, plushies, clothes, dogs! No experience needed! Dancers, theatre folks, and curious people welcome! "
