Founded in 2021 in Montreal's Plateau area, Cyber Love Hotel (CLH) is an artist-run space merging technology with community activism. I, Ellie (aka Liane), initiated this project to create a haven for marginalized voices in tech, especially those from queer, neurodivergent, and POC communities.
CLH champions a community around tech and creativity, offering resistance against mainstream tech narratives. Our mission is to empower individuals often overlooked by the tech world, providing resources and knowledge to bridge the gap.
We provide a variety of resources, from cutting-edge tech like VR and e-textiles to traditional arts, reflecting our holistic approach to technology. Our space hosts workshops, equipment lending, and residency programs, fostering a tech-literate and future-driven community.
Our unique approach combines member financing with open access, ensuring sustainability while keeping our activities free for the wider community. CLH is not just a space but a collaborative community, offering a sanctuary for those seeking a different path in the tech world.
Cyber Love Hotel stands as a creative intersection of technology, community, and activism, proving that technology can be accessible, inclusive, and driven by collective empowerment.
